TREY SONGZ APPEARS TO THROW FIRST PUNCH IN FIGHT WITH COP

Trey Songz was arrested on Sunday following a brawl with police for not following coronavirus protocols at the AFC championship game in Kansas City.

A new video shared by Kansas City Police appears to show that Trey threw the first punch during the altercation. In the security camera footage, obtained by TMZ, Trey is in the stands at Arrowhead Stadium when he is approached by security on three separate occasions, presumably telling him to wear a mask.

After he seemingly ignores the warning, a KCPD officer was called to intervene. The cop talks to Trey for about 90 seconds and then tries to escort him out of the section. The singer exits the row before swinging or shoving the cop and a scuffle ensues. Trey reportedly landed a punch at the cop’s head and placed him in a headlock. Security and off-duty sheriff’s deputies arrived for backup and Trey was handcuffed and jailed overnight.

Trey was booked for trespassing, resisting arrest—both misdemeanors—and for assaulting a police officer, a low-grade felony, and was released from Jackson County Detention Center on Monday.

The Kansas City Police tells The Associated Press that the altercation started after fans at the game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills complained about a man who was not following COVID-19-related protocols. Police said the man refused to follow orders from private security guards and was asked to leave. When he refused, Kansas City police officers were called.

Trey, who tested positive for coronavirus in October, did mask up at one point, but the mask eventually came off. He appeared maskless while interacting with security and the cop. His camp claims the officer had it out for him from before the fight.
