The stars were out in full effect at Diddy’s annual White Party this Labor Day weekend in the Hamptons. Previously held in St. Tropez, the party historically attracts some of the hottest names in music and fashion each year. This year, everyone from Mariah Carey and Busta Rhymes, to Ashley Olsen and Donna Karen attended the event, which features a stricter dress code than an all-female Catholic school. The hip-hop mogul’s annual White Party, which he has held in St. Tropez in recent years, featured a white carpet to go along with the white dress code. “This party is up there with the top three that I’ve thrown,” Combs said. “It’s a party that has legendary status. It’s hard to throw a party that lives up to its legend.” Mariah Carey, Busta Rhymes, Donna Karan, Ashley Olsen, Star Jones and Tommy Lee were among the guests. But those who failed to abide by the dress code found themselves told to change, including the wife of Billy Joel, Katie Lee. She had gone to the party dressed in a shade of cream, but that did not win over Combs’ fashion police. Turned away, she opted to go home.

‘Girls Who Play Guitars’ will be the third single to be taken from Maximo Park’s second album Our Earthly Pleasures on August 20. Two 7″ singles and CD will contain a new song called ‘Warehouse’, demos of ‘(I Remember) Joe Brainard’ and ‘Girls’ and other tracks called ‘An Unknown’, ‘Sandblasted’ and ‘Set Free’.

As prevuiousley announced, PJ Harvey will return on September 24 with a new album called White Chalk.
